Research has shown that magnesium supplements can help relieve migraines, as well as reduce migraines due to menstruation. How does magnesium help? Magnesium is a necessary mineral for bodily functions, including the heart, bones and muscles. Magnesium regulates blood vessels to operate, reduce pain and appease the nervous system, which may help to relieve migraines. It can also help reduce stress by working on the sympathetic nervous system and can regulate the sugar content in the blood, called two causes of migraine. And more necessary once again, magnesium will also affect serotonin production and regulation. Serotonin is a chemical that is produced by the body and it takes some nerve cells and brain to play a role. Some people who lack magnesium because of sugar and foods high in fat, which inhibits peneyrapannya into the body. People who suffer from migraine sufferers generally have below normal magnesium content. Dr. Bernstein recommends taking 400 mg of magnesium / day for a two-month trial period.
